The initiative “The night of the researchers and researchers” promoted by the University of “Magna Graecia” of Catanzaro ended with an exceptional audience. This year the University has developed a perfect formula capable of involving young people and the general public with open -air workshops, tour on the university campus and a great ending with music and entertainment. Three intense days with the participation of over 2,000 girls and boys, students and students from primary schools and secondary schools of the first and second degree of all of Calabria, who have transformed the “Salvatore Venuta” campus of the Magna Graecia University into a vibrant open laboratory dedicated to scientific dissemination, orientation and dialogue between researchers and young people in order to intrigue them and bring them closer to the world of research.

A very rich program that offered the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops and to live direct and immersive experiences with experiments, simulations and focus. From legal medicine to artificial intelligence, from environmental sustainability to law, from biomedicine to chemistry, over 80 teachers, including researchers and doctoralities of the university, have opened the doors of their laboratories and their hearts by transferring the passion for science and allowing the public to “touch with their hand” scientific work and to understand the impact of research on daily life. The grand finale brought the new “One Party” format to the stage of the Porto di Catanzaro area, the closing party that enclosed all the holidays of the year in one night and accompanied the general public in an informal and fun atmosphere during which students, teachers, university staff and citizens have celebrated the value and impact of research showing how science and culture can join fun. The initiative “The night of the researchers and researchers”, created by the UMG with the patronage of the Municipality of Catanzaro and the support of AMC, Tech4you and Biotecnomed, is part of the Superscienceeme project, financed by the European Commission.

“We are extremely proud of the success of the night of the researchers and researchers 2025, it was a record edition. See so many young people interested, asking acute questions and participating enthusiastically in our workshops, is the largest reward for work daily done. The research is the engine of the future and our mission is to light this spark in tomorrow’s talents. The success in terms of participation for all the proposed activities is the proof that the community recognizes the community. of the knowledge and innovation that our university produces. This is what the rector of the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro said, prof. Giovanni Cuda.

“It was three intense days – said Professor Donatella Paolino, head of the Superscienceeme project – Inserted in an even wider program that started in August. This initiative has allowed us to deepen complex themes and to dedicate more space to interaction, in particular with schools. The enthusiasm of the children and young people who have filled our university in these days is our greatest satisfaction. Living of science and for science is an exciting adventure, research is a party made of continuous discoveries and the final of the ‘One Party’ wanted to symbolize this: the joy of shared knowledge. We are very satisfied with this edition, the result of the collaboration and the efforts made by a large group at the service of the University and the whole territory “.

The Magna Graecia University, also on this occasion, has reaffirmed its crucial role in the production of knowledge and in its diffusion, and has allowed young people to appreciate the many opportunities offered by the University of Catanzaro, living and stimulating academic reality. The impact of the Scientific Research of the UMG, recognized at national and international level, is the result of the daily commitment of the researchers and researchers of the University who, one experiment and after another, are silently building tomorrow, producing real progress with an important impact for the care of diseases, for the protection of the planet and for the development of the territory.

The program of the Superscienceme project continues tomorrow, Tuesday 30 September with the event open to citizens entitled “Resilient knowledge and flavors: talk and show cooking with Tech4you” scheduled in Catanzaro, in Villa Margherita, from 17:00 to 20:00.
