The voice of the citizens of Contrada Guglia of Catanzaro rises once again to denounce the state of abandonment in which the neighborhood pays. Giuseppe Costantino, a member of the Committee of the Contrada, made himself the spokesperson for the discontent of the residents, complaining of a persistent lack of essential services and ordinary interventions by the municipal administration.

“Despite the numerous reports forwarded, we continue to live in unacceptable conditions,” says Constantine. Among the most urgent critical issues: the uncultivated grass, the failure to collect bulky waste abandoned to the edges of the roads and a water network subject to frequent failures that requires weekly interventions.

“We were promised to be the cut of the grass by the end of July, but the operators did not even see the shadow,” the committee’s representative denounces. “Even the reclamation of abandoned waste – often left by incivile from other areas of the city – is completely absent”.

The situation of the aqueduct is also serious: “The water pipeline requires constant maintenance.

Citizens now speak openly of “Serie A neighborhoods and Serie C neighborhoods”, expressing a strong sense of inequality. “We pay taxes like everyone else. We do not demand favor treatments, but at least the minimum services, those who are guaranteed elsewhere and that only come from us in the form of some acconters,” adds Constantine.

The Committee of Contrada Guglia therefore requests the municipal administration of Catanzaro for a concrete and timely intervention. “We ask for collaboration and respect. We do not want the extraordinary, but simply the ordinary, what every citizen should have. We trust in an answer by the Municipality”, concludes Costantino, addressing with a greeting to the administration in the hope that the requests of the residents do not once again unheard.
