The new tender for the awarding of the waste collection service in the regional capital is taking shape. Yesterday, at the end of a meeting of the group leaders in the City Council which lasted just over an hour, the administrative path was defined which will lead the Municipality to present the economic and financial plan relating to the new assignment of the service and therefore to the provision of the related tender . The meeting made it possible to verify the substantial agreement of all political forces on the general approach: by January 20, the city council will be asked to approve the new financial scheme which provides for an increase of approximately 6% in the TARInecessary to cover the increased operating costs of waste collection without reducing any of the services already present in the current assignment.

In the Council there could also be the approval of a policy act that strengthens the request already forwarded by the Municipality to Arrical at the end of 2024 for the royalties recognized to Catanzaro for the use of the Alli plant to be updated upwards. The regional capital, in fact, is entitled to 7% while other provincial capitals reach 21%.

As for the timing, Fiorita’s desire is to publish the notice between the end of January and the first half of February. This, net of any undesirable administrative disputes after the award, will lead to completing the transition to the new manager (unless Sieco itself wins the new assignment) by next June. The assignment will be for five years or until Arrical publishes its tender.
