The checks along the Crotone coast by the Port Authority – Coast Guard of Crotone, engaged in an intense supervisory activity at sea and land in the field of the operation “Sea and Sicuri 2025”, continue without stopping. The goal is to guarantee compliance with the safety rules, especially in the summer, when the number of boaters and the attendance of the bathing establishments increases.

During the weekend just passed, the military – supported by patrol boats, fast boats and patrols on the ground – carried out numerous checks that led to penalties for over 10,000 euros.

Checks at sea: six sanctioned boats, two seized Acquascooters

There are 28 controlled units between boats, boats and water motorcycles. Of these, six have been sanctioned for various violations of the navigation code and local ordinances, for a total of over 6,000 euros.

In particular, two water bikes were subjected to administrative seizure: in one case, the vehicle was without the insurance certificate; In the other, the driver circulated without ever having achieved the nautical license, mandatory for that type of vehicle.

Checks to the bathing establishments: fines in Le Castella

The control activity also affected the bathing establishments, with particular attention to compliance with the seaside safety order no. 28/2025. In Le Castella, in the municipality of Isola Capo Rizzuto, there were four structures sanctioned due to lack of compulsory health equipment and for the absence of the rescue stations.

The raised fines to the owners of the bathing establishments amount to over 4,000 euros.

Summer under control

The operations will continue throughout the summer season, with an intensification of activities on weekends and in the periods of greater tourist influx, in order to guarantee the safety of navigation, the protection of the marine environment and the compliance with the rules by tour operators.
