A dramatic scene occurred off the coast of Stanwell Park, in New South Wales, where a whale puppy was accidentally hit by a motorboat. To document the incident was the photographer Michael Hatte, who was following a whale and his little one with a drone.

The puppy was swimming near the surface when the boat hit him, hitting him on the back. The collision was such as to overlook the passengers of the motorboat. According to what reported, the young cetacean would have managed to immerse himself immediately after the impact.

“I was about to stop shooting – said Hatte on Instagram – when I saw the boat heading towards them. I reactivated the recording just in time. The entire sequence lasts only three seconds, but it could have ended up tragedy”. The photographer nicknamed the small “Bub” and stressed that the puppy moved his head a moment before the impact, probably avoiding much more serious consequences.
