Kiev media say Russia launched a massive airstrike with missiles and drones against Ukraine tonighttargeting cities across the country.

In addition to Kharkiv, explosions were reported in particular in Dnipro and Kremenchuk. Several Ukrainian cities have imposed emergency blackout during the attack. Kiev’s air force reported that Russian Tu-95 strategic bombers took off overnight and that a number of Kalibr cruise missiles had been launched from the Black Sea. The eastern city of Kharkiv in particular was taken targeted by at least seven rocket attacks, according to regional governor Oleh Syniehubov. The raids caused fires and damage to civilian infrastructure, with two people injured and hospitalized.

The Russian army is “massively” attacking the Ukrainian energy sector, where consumption restrictions have been imposed. This was announced by Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko. “The enemy is once again massively attacking the energy sector. The transmission system operator is taking necessary measures to limit consumption in order to minimize negative consequences for the energy system,” Galushchenko wrote on Telegram.
