They continue Carpet checks on the Crotone coast As part of the Safe Sea and Lakes operation 2025, conducted by the Port Authority – Coast Guard of Crotone. The investigations, aimed at protecting the public state property and compliance with the requirements contained in the seaside order no. 28/2025, led to eviction of over 4,000 square meters of illegally occupied beaches and the complaint of four people.

The most recent checks have affected two sensitive areas: The coast of Cirò Marina and the coastal stretch of the Marine Protected Area of ​​Capo Rizzuto, in Capo Bianco.

In Cirò Marina, the military have ascertained that Three bathing establishments had extended their surfaces beyond the limits envisaged by the state concession, occupying about 3,900 square meters of free beach with umbrellas and deck chairs. The areas were immediately cleared, while the owners of the structures were referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Crotone for the crime of illegal employment of state -owned soil.

Even in Capo Rizzuto, in Capo Bianco, an illegal occupation was identified: 340 square meters of the state property area had been equipped with bathing structures in the absence of concession. Also in this case, the complaint was taken for the manager and the area was returned to public use.

The activity of the Coast Guard continues in close collaboration with the Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Crotone, directed by the prosecutor Dr. Domenico Guarascio, with the aim of counteracting any form of abuse that limits the access of the community to property owned by the state, such as the maritime state property.

The municipalities concerned will be informed to start the administrative procedures necessary for the quantification of the compensation due and the recovery of the sums to the tax authorities.
