Coast erosion in Fuscaldo, the mayor Middea: “Urgent interventions for the safety of the coast are needed”

Coastal erosion was discussed in the meeting that was held in recent days in the town hall of Fuscaldo. The mayor Giacomo Middea met the representatives of the 100 families of the Royal Village to face the worrying phenomenon of coastal erosion that is affecting the area overlooking the condominium. During the meeting, the mayor provided updates on the ongoing projects and on the actions taken by the municipal administration to face this problem.
The first citizen illustrated the project of the Calabria Region, currently being stalled, which provides for safety interventions of the coast. Although some sections have already been made, most of the necessary works remain pending. Middea underlined the importance of acting promptly to protect the stretch of coast of relevance of the Municipality of Fusaldo, before the damage become irreversible.
In addition, the mayor mentioned a RFI project, which should be started shortly and which will specifically affect the beach in front of the Royal village. This project represents a concrete hope for the local community, which fears for the safety and integrity of its coast.
During the meeting, the representatives of the Royal Village expressed their willingness to actively participate in the future meetings organized by the Municipality with the representatives of the Calabria Region. The goal is to solicit the start of the coast safety works, a theme of vital importance for the community.
The appointment has been set for after the next regional elections, a crucial moment in which it is hoped that the new administrations can impulse to these fundamental projects for safeguarding the territory.
Mayor Middea reiterated the administration’s commitment to pressing the region to guarantee the safety of the coast, underlining that the collaboration between the institutions and the citizens is essential to effectively face this challenge.
