Coast Guard checks, over 9,000 euros in penalties at the Crotonese bathing establishments

The checks of the Port Authority of Crotone continue on the bathing establishments as part of the “Sea and Lakes Safe Lakes 2025”, with checks on employment of state -owned soil and compliance with the safety standards provided for by order no. 28/2025.

In the municipality of Cutro, a Spatto locality, an abusive occupation of over 1,500 square meters of maritime state property was discovered by a tourist structure, which also built, without authorization, a bar kiosk, showers, toilets and a first aid room in the respect of 30 meters. The owner was reported to the Crotone prosecutor’s office for illegal employment and unauthorized works.

Also in Cutro, found irregularities in the assignment of activities to third parties and the failure to prepare the stations for bathers assistants, with sanctions for a total of 3,096 euros.

In Cropani and Sellia Marina, in a factory, unauthorized management by a third party was contested, while in others five penalties were raised for a total of 5,160 euros for lack of reporting boes and rescue service.

Overall, administrative sanctions exceed 9,000 euros. The activities take place in connection with the Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Crotone, led by the prosecutor Domenico Guarascio, with the aim of protecting the maritime state property and public use of the beaches.
