The President of the Colombian Football Federation, Ramón Jesurún, was arrested in Miami during an incident that occurred yesterday at the Copa America final. This was learned from a police report today.

According to a Miami-Dade County (Florida) police report, Jesurùn was arrested on charges of “assault on a public officer.”
On Sunday night, the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami experienced chaos in attendance for the Copa America final, where Argentina defeated Colombia 1-0 with an extra-time goal by Lautaro Martinez.

After the match, Ramon Jesurun, 71, was heading to the pitch with his son and other relatives for the awards ceremony, but security personnel prevented them from accessing the pitch, Colombian newspaper El Tiempò reported. The manager’s son, Ramon Jamil, allegedly confronted one of the security personnel.
Jesurùn, who is also vice-president of Conmebol and a member of the FIFA World Council, took part in the altercation and was arrested along with Ramòn Jamil, the newspaper explained.(
