“Come to the stadium”: Guarascio, the answer comes from the future. If tomorrow’s fans also close the door…

Letter from the future. Or rather, a sheet. A nice large sheet, the kind you take out of the wardrobe for important occasions. Especially if you are a fan at heart. And so in certain circumstances the chants, the demonstrations of affection (or ostracism, depending on the interlocutors) leave room for written messages. As the Latins said – and they said well – verba volant, scipta manent. In reality there is no word that the Cosenza fans have not already used or with which they have not written banners and sheets to convey a concept: they have plenty of Guarascio in their pockets. Now it risks no longer being newsworthy. Just as it no longer causes a stir or indignation to see the “Marulla” stadium empty inside and full (of fans) outside (as well as away games), with the team fighting for the top places in Serie C. A paradox that would surprise anywhere, but which no longer makes any noise in the City of Bruzi. The sole director Rita Scalise and the honorary president Eugenio Guarascio carry on, as if nothing had happened. As if those gaps in the stands were physiological, normal, acceptable. And instead of physiological, normal and acceptable there is very little. And now the fans are also pointing it out… of tomorrow.

A clear message

Cosenza is clumsily trying to fill the stands of the “Marulla”, having now given up on organized fan groups. So, what strategy to adopt? We move on to the new generations, to the young generations. Hence the decision to co-opt the students of the IIS Castrolibero “Valentini-Majorana” in view of tomorrow evening’s match at 8.30 pm against Cavese. It’s a shame that even the adolescent soul of cheering has put a stop to it. And he did it by unrolling that famous sheet mentioned above: “We appreciate the invitation, but not the commitment. Go away from Cosenza, you are not worthy.” No, it’s not just organized support that has closed the doors to Guarascio&co.

Next try? Playrooms and nursery schools? All that remains is to wait for the new move from the owners…
