Commissions, budget and… omnibus: a “last minute” law in the Regional Council of Calabria

Often, in the last legislature, they triggered controversies in the Regional Council. And here we go again: at the dawn of Occhiuto bis, the first omnibus law arrives at Palazzo Campanella, thirteen articles that deal with the most disparate subjects, from transport to the new Redigit, from the former land reclamation consortia to social housing, passing through the rules of the spoils system and the confirmation of the auditors. All the majority group leaders (Forza Italia, Occhiuto Presidente, Fratelli d’Italia, Lega and Noi Moderati) signed the provision, already included as the last item on the agenda of today’s council session. And you can bet that tension will rise, if only because the proposal fails to pass through the commission. On today’s menu – in addition to a series of budget documents – also changes to the commissions and the election of the related bureaus (6 permanent bodies and 2 special ones), in a political interlocking game that has already triggered so many sparks.
