Concession of the San Vito-Gigi Marulla stadium in Cosenza, Caruso and Mazzuca: “Evaluations requested from the offices to analyze new obligations”

Any and possible future obligations regarding the concession of the San Vito-Gigi Marulla Stadium, approved by the city council on 28 July 2023, will, as assured several times by Mayor Franz Caruso, be brought to the attention of the civic assembly. The decision to start a new reflection on the deliberative act, in fact, was agreed upon and taken some time ago by the mayor Franz Caruso and the president of the City Council, Giuseppe Mazzuca who, in a joint statement, stated: “We believe it is essential to bring back to the City Council the possibility of reviewing the concession of the San Vito-Gigi Marulla stadium previously decided in favor of Cosenza football. This is because there is increasingly strong friction between the city and president Eugenio Guarascio, whose behavior and declarations represent real climbing on mirrors, light years away from the feelings of the Cosenza community which remains very attached to the rossoblù colors towards which we do not stop asking and demanding respect. Therefore, believing that the issue involving the disconnect between the company management and the city goes beyond the sporting sphere alone, becoming a real social issue, we consider it necessary to consult the city council on the entire matter which will obviously take the concession into account. and management of the sports facility. For this reason, clarifications relating to the technical/bureaucratic and legal aspects essential for a serious, thoughtful and indisputable evaluation have been requested from the competent municipal offices. As soon as we receive feedback on our requests, it will be our responsibility to evaluate the conclusions reached by the offices in order to reach the municipal council in a short time”.
