“For several days I have received reports from patients and families regarding the lack of availability of drugs on behalf (DPC) in various territories of Calabria. These are often innovative medicines, intended for oncological pathologies or rare diseases, with very high costs that today fall entirely on patients and their families, forced to buy direct purchase”.

This is what Amalia Bruni, regional councilor of the Democratic Party and candidate for the Regional Council in the Center area declares.

“The DPC system, active for years now, has represented concrete help in the health service, allowing simpler access to drugs and at the same time guaranteeing savings for the regional coffers. Is it legitimate to ask: why are these dysfunctions check?

“In fact, the Region collects the needs of healthcare companies on drugs admitted to distribution on behalf and proceeds to the tenders, creating economies of scale that protect both citizens and the regional budget. In recent years scientific research has made available increasingly effective therapies, in particular against oncological diseases. Leaving patients without drugs, today, means compromising essential treatments and denying fundamental rights. BRUNI – There is also the dismantling of the Health Department. for some time we have been denouncing as the choice of the former president of the Region to focus everything on a zero company, weakening the Department simultaneously, would have produced confusion and damage. Interim “.

“The pharmaceutical, after the staff, represents the second expense item of the health system. The lack of government of this sector not only creates serious inconvenience to patients, but also generates heavy economic repercussions on the region’s coffers. We are faced with one of the many disasters of the Occhiuto management: Calabrian citizens deserve answers and an efficient health service, not continuous emergencies and disservices”, concludes Amalia Bruni.
