The Multimedia Museum of Cosenza is preparing to open the doors to the new immersive exhibition dedicated to Frida Kahlo, entitled «Viva la Vida», scheduled from tomorrow, October 1st. The exhibition offers an artistic and symbolic journey centered on the famous Mexican painter, a universal icon of freedom and resilience.
Frida Kahlo, a journey between art and joy of living
«Within the exhibition, all of Frida Kahlo’s work is analyzed in artistic but also symbolic terms, because she represents an icon of extraordinary relevance – states director Gianfranco Confessore -. The title “Viva la Vida” refers to his last work, painted eight days before his death. In this detail I enclose the essence of his experience: a hymn to life expressed in the moment of maximum suffering.”
«Frida Kahlo represents freedom for many people, despite having been forced by life into a path of suffering – underlines the artistic director of the museum, Renato Nuzzolo -. With the direction of Gianfranco Confessore we wanted to bring out his joy of living to make the spectators’ “souls dance”. Furthermore, one year after the reopening of the structure, we are offering the possibility of experiencing the museum even after exhibition times.”
Signature dinners and concerts: around twenty events until New Year’s Eve
To enrich the offer of the city’s cultural centre, there will be a program of collateral events scheduled until New Year’s Eve. The museum will host around twenty evening events: from signature dinners curated by starred chef Antonio Biafora to live concerts, with proposals ranging from wild music to Frank Sinatra’s Christmas covers. Also on the calendar is the usual celebration on December 25th and activities dedicated to the world of comics and show cooking.
Progressive discounts for visiting the four immersive exhibitions
Among the main innovations is a progressive discount formula, with tariff concessions based on the number of routes chosen. Visitors will thus be able to enjoy four different immersive exhibitions on the same day. In addition to the exhibition on Frida Kahlo, the itineraries dedicated to Van Gogh, Klimt and the prehistory of the Mesozoic will be available: a heritage of digital productions entirely created in Calabria and preserved by the Multimedia Museum.
