Today, 18 February 2026, the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Cosenza executed the precautionary measure order of house arrest with an electronic bracelet, issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Cosenza, at the request of this Public Prosecutor’s Office, against a suspect on the basis of the deemed existence of circumstantial gravity in relation to the crime of possession and carrying of a clandestine weapon.
Origin of the investigation and the criminal act
In particular, the investigation activity conducted by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Cosenza, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Cosenza, originated from the incident that occurred on 25.11.2025 when a gunshot was fired at the address of a man who worked on the public road, hitting him in the leg.
Results of the investigative activity
The in-depth investigations made it possible – in the preliminary investigation phase, which requires subsequent procedural verification in the cross-examination with the defense – to identify, in terms of circumstantial gravity, the perpetrator of the serious act, in the subject receiving the precautionary measure.
