A hospital doctor of extraordinary value. Passed away in tragic circumstances after bearing the brunt of the devastating pandemic from Covid. Her name was Lucio Marrocco and had managed the plan put in place at Annunziata to manage the difficult phase of the spread of the virus,
Two scholarships have been established in his name and will be awarded to two graduates in Medicine from the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro. The initiative will be presented tomorrow afternoon in the prestigious headquarters – Villa Rendano – of the Giuliani Foundation. There will be the rector of the University of Catanzaro Giovambattista De Sarro, the president of the Unical Medicine course, Marcello Maggiolini, together with politicians, managers and scholars from across the peninsula. The deputy minister Vannia Gava, the professor Emanuele Lettieri of the Polytechnic of Milan, the deputy Ugo Cappellacci, president of the Chamber’s Health Commission, Vittorio Sestito, responsible for the budget of the Region’s Health Department and the deputy Simona Loizzo will take turns on stage. It will be the best way to remember Marrocco, whose figure will be outlined by the surgeon and medical director Ninni Urso. The initiative was organized by the non-profit association Aismed, in collaboration with the two universities and the Province of Cosenza.
