An elderly couple from Catanzaro have been arrested in flagrante delicto on charges of arson.
The police intervened in Squillace Lido, near the train station where several citizens had reported the presence of two people who were setting fire to some brushwood. The immediate intervention made it possible to stop the two who, subjected to a search, were found in possession of 2 lighters, which were seized.
The flamesThat they had affected approximately 100 square metres, were put out by the Catanzaro Fire Brigade who intervened at the request of the force. There were no interruptions or problems to the railway infrastructure or to any homes built nearby.
