Fear this evening on the A2 Mediterranean motorway, in the stretch between Lamezia Terme and Falerna, where around 9.10pm an accident occurred involving four cars: a Skoda, a Fiat 500, a Mercedes and an Audi.

Firefighters from the Nicastro detachment intervened on site, securing the vehicles and providing assistance to the occupants. One person, who was injured, was entrusted to the 118 health workers and transported to the Lamezia Terme hospital for checks.

Northbound traffic was temporarily blocked to allow rescue operations and the removal of vehicles. Also present were the traffic police officers, involved in the investigations to reconstruct the dynamics, and the Anas personnel for the restoration of the roadway.

The accident caused long queues, up to more than six kilometres, and considerable inconvenience for motorists stranded on the motorway.
