The Crotone State Police discovered an ingenious system of theft of electricity within a private home, calling in a state of freedom a man – 100% civil invalid – on charges of aggravated theft of electricity.
The operation took place in the field of extraordinary services arranged to counter theft of energy. The agents of the flyers, together with a team of Enel technicians, detected a tampering of the electricity grid: through a bypass, the meter was unable to record real consumption.
According to what was ascertained, the home owner would have conceived a particularly sophisticated system, hidden behind a wall, which artificially slowed down the recording of the energy consumed. To dismantle it, it was necessary to open a passage in the wall. The checks made it possible to estimate economic damage of about 6,000 euros over a five -year period.
The State Police has announced that in the next few days the checks will also continue in other homes and private sites.
