The City Council, on the proposal of the Councilor for Public Works Rossella Parise, approved the technical – economic feasibility project of the redevelopment works of via delle Conchiglie, an intervention awaited for some time by the residents and an integral part of the urban, environmental and social regeneration plan of the peripheral neighborhoods promoted by the Administration.
An intervention that provides for a loan of 3,650,000 euros.
Via delle Conchiglie over the years has undergone a radical transformation from the original destination of the countryside of access to agricultural land: numerous buildings were born intended for residence in addition to the construction of numerous tourist equipment. This modification of the areas has converted the original vocation of a consortium road with an agricultural character, making it in fact, an urban roads road with tourist value, in which it is increased both vehicular traffic and the pedestrian part completely non -existent until now.
Specifically, the activity concerns a 4.5 km length artery and provides for a series of interventions ranging from the complete renovation of the road surface, to the strengthening of public lighting, the creation of new sidewalks and the introduction of urban and public green furniture elements.
The aim of the project is to improve the safety, liveability and aesthetic quality of the street, today in conditions of strong degradation.
“With this concrete intervention we give a further demonstration of the administration’s commitment to giving punctual responses to the needs of citizens with the aim of increasingly bringing the suburbs to the city center more and more. The redevelopment of via delle Conchiglie represents a symbol of our plan for a more livable, safe and modern city” declares the mayor voice.
“With this project we have foreseen innovative and sustainable technical solutions, with particular attention to accessibility and urban drainage as the approval of the feasibility project was preceded by profound and careful analysis of the area” declares the commissioner Parise
