Crotone, irregular games room: maxi fine of over 16 thousand euros. The police propose the closure of the activity

An operation of the Crotone State Police, aimed at combating gambling and abusive commercial activities, led to the discovery of serious irregularities in an exercise of administration of food and drinks with an adjoining games room in Roccabernarda.

The control, ordered by the commissioner Renato Panvino, allowed the agents to ascertain that the owner of the activity was under limitation of personal freedom and had communicated to the Municipality the suspension of the company. Despite this, the venue continued to be operational without any authorization.

A minor was found to manage the exercise, at the time of the inspection. The story was reported to the Labor Inspectorate for the necessary checks. The girl’s mother was sanctioned for a series of violations:

Administration of foods and wake drinks at the municipal suap (5,000 euros);

sale of non -food -free products (5,164 euros);

management of “new slot” gaming appliances without authorizations (3,000 euros);

violation of the operating hours provided for by the regional legislation, with six appliances in operation outside hours (3,000 euros).

The total of the fines amounts to 16,164 euros.
At the same time, the police headquarters transmitted to the competent mayor the request for immediate termination of the activity, while the infringements related to gambling were reported to the Customs and Monopolies Agency of Catanzaro.

“The operation – underlines the Police Headquarters – is part of a constant action of garrison of legality, to protect legitimate activities and to combat gambling and usury phenomena that often affect the subjects suffering from ludopathy”.
