He did not accept the end of the relationship and began to persecute his ex -wife with threats, stalking and insults, even going so far as to intimidate the new woman’s partner. Now for him the ban on approaching has triggered, with the application of the electronic bracelet.

The measure was carried out by the agents of the Mobile Team of the Crotone Police Headquarters, following an order from the investigating judge of the Court of Crotone, issued at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office led by the prosecutor Domenico Guarascio.

The victim’s complaint triggered the immediate activation of the “red code”, the emergency procedure provided for cases of domestic and gender violence. The woman told investigators a long series of harassing and threatening episodes, who forced her to change life habits and live in a constant state of fear.

Thanks to the work of the specialized section “crimes against the person”, the police managed to document the persecutory behavior of man: stalking, verbal attacks and serious death threats. In particular, the investigators have also ascertained intimidation addressed to the woman’s new partner, demonstrating the will of the suspect to hinder the new report of his ex.

The investigative activity led to the request for a precautionary measure, accepted by the judge and immediately performed by the agents of the mobile team.

The operation is part of the furrow of the daily commitment of the State Police in the fight against gender violence. A commitment strongly desired by the Quaestor of Crotone, Renato Panvino, who reiterated the line of Zero tolerance towards every form of abuse, threat and intimidation, focusing on an integrated approach made of listening, timeliness and prevention.

The police renew the invitation to all people victims of violence or who are aware of it to denounce and not remain silent: every voice deserves attention, every story can be heard.
