The Supreme Court of Cassation has put an end to the attack on Davide Ferrerio, the 23-year-old from Bologna who on 11 August 2022 in Crotone was reduced to death due to a personal mistake by Nicolò Passalacqua. The Supreme Court, rejecting the defenses’ appeals, made the two sentences decided on March 11 by the Court of Appeal of Catanzaro definitive: 12 years in prison for 44-year-old Anna Perugino, the woman who instigated the beating, and 5 years and 4 months in prison for Andrej Gaju, a 37-year-old Romanian, who took part in the punitive expedition. Both were found responsible for the crime of complicity in attempted murder. While on 12 February this year the Ermellini had made Passalacqua’s sentence of 12 years and 8 months irrevocable for attempted murder.
Davide Ferrerio was attacked by Passalacqua because he was mistaken for the person – who later turned out to be 34-year-old Alessandro Curto from Petilia Policastro – who was flirting with Martina Perugino (17 years old at the time) with whom Passalacqua had fallen in love.
