Luciano Darderi beats Yannick Hanfmann and wins the ATP 250 tournament in Santiago de Chile.
The Italian, number 21 in the world ranking, prevailed over the German, n. 81 ATP, with the score 7-6 (6) 7-5.
Darderi becomes the player with the most ATP trophies on clay since the beginning of 2024, one more than Carlos Alcaraz. He is second in terms of games won since the beginning of 2024: 48, one less than the Argentine Francisco Cerundolo.
There are eight Italians in the Top 100 in the ATP rankings this week. In fact, Mattia Bellucci is back in the top 100 thanks to the quarter-final at the ATP 500 in Acapulco. The 24-year-old from Busto Arsizio moved up 16 positions to occupy number 94.
First of the Azzurri is obviously Jannik Sinner, second behind Carlos Alcaraz. Fifth Lorenzo Musetti, 15th Flavio Cobolli and 21st Luciano Darderi. Behind them Lorenzo Sonego (61), Matteo Berrettini (66), Matteo Arnaldi (85) and Mattia Bellucci (94).
