“I feel the need to speak to my citizens.” With these words, the mayor of Vibo Valentia, Enzo Romeo, has opened a widespread video message on his social page.

The first citizen explained that he had chosen, together with the junta, the way of silence in the days following the tragedy that hit the little Francesco Mirabelli, “in the moment of the deep pain of his family and all citizens”.

Romeo recognized the emotional impact that the story had on the community: “The emotional wave that pervades the city today is the result of this tragedy and respect it deeply. He aroused attention that I appreciate, because being attentive to the problems of the city means being an active citizenship. Obviously these critical issues must be highlighted without exploitation ».

The mayor then recalled that, since his settlement, the Administration has made available an online tool to report the critical issues of the territory: “For a year we have taken charge of long -standing and countless difficulties of the city, but we were not stopped. We have verified and we are checking, and the work will be incessant ».

Finally, Romeo reiterated his willingness to welcome reports and observations from the citizens: “For my part there is and there will always be the commitment to face the problems they must, can and will have to be resolved”.
