The emergency linked to driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs in Reggio Calabria does not stop. In the last 48 hours, the Local Police has denounced six people, all stopped to the driving vehicles in a state of psychophysical alteration.
Five drivers found in conditions not suitable for driving: four involved in road accidents, one stopped during a road control position aimed at the safety of circulation. From the health investigations carried out at the Gom, three were positive to drugs, while two had an alcohol content well beyond the limited limits.
The case of a driver protagonist of an autonomous accident on the night of July 9 on Viale Galileo is particularly serious: the man lost control of the vehicle, finishing the race against a large tree. The clinical exams have detected an alcohol content six times higher than the legal limits and the presence of cocaine and benzodiazepine in the blood.
Despite the control services intensified in recent weeks, the targeted local police operations will continue in the next few days to counter the phenomenon, which continues to represent one of the main causes of serious claims.
To these complaints is added that, dating back to three days ago, against a Romanian citizen surprised to driving without a license for the second time in less than a year.
For all the subjects reported in possession of a license, the withdrawal of the driving document was triggered. Four vehicles were subjected to administrative seizure for confiscation purposes.
