The budget of the powerful 6.9 magnitude earthquake that hit the central Philippines on Tuesday has risen to over 60 deaths. “We are receiving further reports of victims, so the situation is very unstable,” said a high rescue services official. “Over 60 people would have died,” Rafaelito Alejandro, deputy director of the Government Civil Protection Office, told journalists. The earthquake struck Bogo, a city of 90 thousand inhabitants near the northern end of the populous island of Cebu, causing the collapse of buildings.
