«In Venezuela there is a large Italian community, over 140,000 people. And in Caracas alone there are over 65,000. La Guaira, one of the areas of Caracas, was among the most affected. That’s where we’re seeing a lot of reports of people not responding.” The head of the Farnesina Crisis Unit, Nicola Minasi, said this to Tg2 Post.

To a question about reports of missing Italians, Minasi said that «we have reports of several Italians on whom checks are requested. And we work incessantly with the consulate general in Caracas, with the embassy to carry out on-site checks.”
