A reformist area was born in Calabria and is proposed to the “comparison with the other political forces in the appropriate times and offices” to “define a shared government program and to form a strong coalition that makes Calabria come out of the swamp, through the guidance of a candidate for the chosen and shared president in Calabria”.
Promoter of the initiative The mayor of Rende Sandro Principe who called for this morning to make a programmatic table of moderate forces in which exponents of the Italian Socialist Party, Italy Viva, action, Republican Party, +Europe, reformist socialists and the province of Cosenza, federated South and civic movements participated. Action in the legislature that ends up, supported the Occhiuto junta.
After a national analysis, the participants support, in a document, that “the king is naked also in Calabria where, contrary to the proclamations, the concerns of political forces and citizens remain intact on the failure to resolve regional issues in terms of health, work, infrastructure, transport, environment and tourism”.
“This state of affairs – they continue – is confirmed by the resignation of Occhiuto, with absolutely contradictory reasons. The national and regional situation highlights that in the disappointing political scenario there is a void, once filled with liberal-democratic, socialist-reformist, Risorgimento, Catholic-democratic and radical inspiration, “. From here, “to fill this great emptiness”, the Rende meeting.
“These forces – it is written in the document – have started, being well underway, a path to constitute a federation supported by a real federative pact: for the meantime, they confronted how to deal with concreteness, emergencies in the world of health, work, infrastructure, environmental, transport and tourism”. Starting from these ideas they intend to deal with other political forces. Finally, the reformist area aims to “enhance the figure and function of the mayors to the maximum, whose dignity must always be defended as bearers of live and real interests”.
