The first data arriving from Milazzo speak of 19,106 voters with a final turnout percentage of 69.17% recorded at 3.00 pm on May 25th. In 2020, there were 19,359 voters, with a final turnout of 69.62 percent this time.
The definitive results: the outgoing Midili triumphs
When all 37 sections have been counted, the polls deliver an overwhelming victory to the outgoing mayor and centre-right candidate Pippo Midili with 58.81% of the votes, followed very far behind by Laura Castelli from the South calling for the North with 14.85%, Lorenzo Italiano third with 13.84%, then the exponent of the centre-left area Michele Vacca with 7.19% and the other two candidates again “independent” Giuseppe Falliti with 4.07% and Carmelo Torre with 1.24%
The reconfirmed mayor Midili is satisfied: «This path has given great results and has contributed to changing, in part, the DNA of the people of Milazzo: if before there was hardly a tendency to reward the great work done, this time the response was that of a cohesive, united city that wants to continue to grow on the path traced. It is a result that rewards us, going well beyond the controversies and the many unpleasant situations that occurred during the electoral campaign, and which also saw a greater turnout at the polls. The controversies of recent weeks have a well-identified origin, which I don’t even want to remember tonight because it’s time to celebrate. Tomorrow evening, during the rally in the square, we will remove a few pebbles from our shoes and bring out what we have inside. But not tonight: tonight we celebrate a city that has rediscovered its unity and that wanted to reward those who have truly worked for the territory. I believe this is the best possible outcome.”

The new municipal council of Milazzo will be composed of:
MAJORITY – 20 total seats
Città Futura (4 seats): the list sees Stefana known as Stefania Scolaro (the most voted ever with 576 preferences) and Francesco known as Franco Russo (424) as the first elected, together with Elisa Munafò (248) and Alisia Sottile (258). Forza Italia Berlusconi (4 seats): the group is led by Santi Michele known as Santino Saraò (515 preferences) and Massimo Bagli (510), together with Giorgia Capone (337) and Angelo Maimone (392). Fratelli d’Italia (4 seats): Rosario Piraino (506 preferences) and Mario Francesco known as Mario Sindoni (428) obtained the highest results, together with Sebastiana Bambaci (420) and Roberto Mellina (380). Milazzo 2026 (3 seats): Lydia Russo prevails with 563 votes, followed by Francesco known as Franco Rizzo (310) and Nunziato known as Nunzio Pizzurro (291). Cambia Mente for Milazzo (3 seats): the most voted on the list are Franco Mario Coppolino (573 preferences) and Maria Magliarditi (470) and Danilo Ficarra (408). For Prima Milazzo – Noi Moderati (2 seats): Peppe Russo (447) and Roberta Sterrantino (231).
OPPOSITION – 4 total seats
The minorities manage to gain only 4 seats overall within the various civic and party lists: Lorenzo Italiano Coalition (2 seats): assigned to the Lorenzo Italiano Mayor list, where the most voted is Giovanni Di Bella (337 preferences), followed by the mayoral candidate Lorenzo Italiano himself (221). Laura Castelli Coalition (1 seat): shoots for the list An extra gear for Milazzo, which sees Giuseppe Crisafulli (342 votes) as the first names for preferences. Michele Vacca Coalition (1 seat): assigned to the Democratic Party – 5 Star Movement – Communist Refoundation list, in which there was an ex aequo at the top between Gioacchino Abbriano and Mariagrazia Gitto which should bring the younger of the two to Palazzo dell’Aquila (147 votes each).
