Emmanuel Miraglia, president of the Giomi group, died. He would have turned 86 next October: Fatale was a fulminating heart attack. National reference point in the healthcare sector, Miraglia has distinguished itself for research and innovation, as well as for creating excellent structures. For his merits he has been appointed honorary citizen of Messina and Reggio Calabria. He led one of the most important groups on the national panorama by number of beds, employees and turnover. In Messina, the “Franco Scalabrino” Orthopedic Institute of Ganzirri and the Cappellani clinic are now the reference points of the affiliated private healthcare.
Just two months ago, Miraglia had been in Messina for the public initiative of the delivery of the scholarships “Marco Pasquali Lasagni” to the children of the employees of the Messina and Reggio group. On that occasion he had underlined the importance of values and merit, together with training. “Rewarding the commitment makes young people understand the value of study and life,” he said by launching a message to the boys present. “Keep the photo of this day – he added -, it will be stimulated when there are difficulties”. Words pronounced without hiding that tip of pride, as a man from the South, in recognizing the merit of all those guys from Messina and Reggio who want to emerge.
