“The numbers regarding employment growth in the South, which the current government has recently boasted of, benefit from the decisive push of active employment policies financed with Pnrr funds and the data from the Gol programme, as highlighted by a dossier in the newspaper Il Mattino, bear witness to this”. This was stated by MP Anna Laura Orrico, Calabrian coordinator of the 5 Star Movement.
“The Gol program (guarantee of employability of workers) – says Orrico -, financed with 4.4 billion euros of European funds, was a measure resulting from the vision of the Conte 2 government, of which I was also part, and allowed more than 2 million citizens, involved in professional training and refresher courses, to obtain employment for at least 6 months. In essence – continues the five-star exponent -, the difference between before and after taking charge of citizens involved in the Gol program was a revealing element of the effectiveness of the active policies in question: in Calabria, for example, we recorded a 26.8% increase in hiring.
“This is why – concludes Anna Laura Orrico -, it seems at least ungenerous for the Meloni government to rely on results that start from afar, built by a political party that is often demonized and ridiculed when, at times, it would be enough to have the intellectual honesty to only recognize the commitment of those who preceded them”.
