Three appointments signed Fiab Messina Ciclable, next Saturday 20 September, as part of the European Mobility Week (SEM). Different initiatives, united by the same common thread: to promote a more livable city, attentive to the environment and people. At 10, at the literary coffee Volta page, at number 13 of Strada San Giacomo, known to most as Largo San Giacomo, a meeting with journalists entitled “Messina in safety: roads and mobility for everyone” is scheduled. It will be a moment of comparison on the issues of road safety and sustainable mobility. At the center the national and local data on traffic and incidentality, the critical issues of the Pums Messina 2030 and the virtuous examples of the city that have chosen safer and more liveable roads. Fiab will propose concrete actions to reduce risks and improve the quality of life: areas 30, speed bollards, monitoring cycling flows, educational campaigns and a culture of respect among all users of the road. In the afternoon, Strada San Giacomo will turn into a lively open -air stage. At 4.30 pm, until 6.30 pm, the Gimkana Bimbi, in the space in front of the literary coffee Volta page, organized by the Lupi association of the Peloritani ASD, affiliated to the Italian Cycling Federation. A two -wheeled obstacle course, designed for children aged 6 to 12, which combines fun, cycling skills and awareness of sustainable mobility. The small participants are invited to present themselves with comfortable clothing, bicycle in good condition and, if possible, protective helmet. A bottle of water will be useful to recharge the energies between one test and another. Participation is free. From 17 to 19.30, the literary coffee will host the Mobility Talk, a meeting open to the public to discuss sustainable mobility, slow tourism, health, urban regeneration and cities to everyone. Representatives of associations, professionals and activists will alternate on stage, bringing concrete experiences and proposals, with the aim of analyzing slow tourism and territory protection models; Share Best Practices of cycle paths and cycle policies; explore the link between mobility and physical well -being; face gender challenges in urban mobility; propose ideas for the regeneration of city spaces. After the debate, the public will be able to continue confronting a convivial moment accompanied by a small aperitif.
