A new and important recognition rewards the excellence of Sicilian cardiology. It happened at the ASP of Messina at the S. Vincenzo hospital in Taormina, where the Cardiovascular Echocardiography Laboratory, directed by Dr. Luciana Lombardo, obtained level II SIECVI accreditation for General Cardiovascular Ultrasound and for the specialty of Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) with Structural. The prestigious recognition, awarded by the Italian Society of Echocardiography and CardioVascular Imaging (SIECVI), certifies the high quality, competence and organization of the laboratory, which meets the most rigorous technical, training and clinical standards required at a national level. The accreditation, valid until 2026, represents an achievement of great professional and institutional value.

Dr. Luciana Lombardo, a cardiologist with proven experience and specialist in cardiovascular imaging, has guided the growth path of the laboratory with commitment and vision, introducing cutting-edge diagnostic methodologies and consolidating a model of efficiency and quality now officially recognized by SIECVI. “This accreditation – underlines Lombardo – represents recognition not only for the laboratory, but for the entire team who works with dedication every day to guarantee patients a safe, precise and high-quality diagnostic path. It is the result of years of training, research and passion for cardiology”.

Thanks to competence, innovation and continuous training, the Cardiovascular Echocardiography Laboratory of the Taormina hospital thus confirms itself as a regional point of reference for advanced diagnostics and a center of excellence of the ASP of Messina in care and research in the cardiological field. Great satisfaction with the result achieved was expressed by the Strategic Management of the ASP of Messina, composed of the general director Giuseppe Cuccì, the administrative director Giancarlo Niutta and the health director Giuseppe Ranieri Trimarchi.
