The Lido di Catanzaro district is preparing to live one of the most felt moments of the year with the Feast of the Madonna of Porto Salvo, RiGener deeply rooted in the religious and cultural tradition of the community. The Rich religious and civil program, scheduled from 18 to 27 Julywill combine spirituality and entertainment in a week of celebrations that will involve residents and visitors.
The religious program: faith and devotion
Religious celebrations begin Friday 18th July With the opening of the novena, accompanied by S. Masses and recitation of the Rosary every day until the end of the week.
Among the most significant moments:
Thursday 24 July It will be dedicated to prayer for vocations, with community adoration and the suggestive Holy Mass on the beach at 21:00, near the monument again.
Saturday 26 July, A solemn procession will start from the Le Fornaci shopping center, with a stop at the port for the homage to the Madonna and the statue of S. Anna, with a return expected in the evening.
Sunday 27 July It represents the culmination of the celebrations with the Holy Mass at 11:15, followed by the plea at the Madonna of Porto Salvo at 12:00. In the afternoon, the exciting procession at sea, which will end with the Eucharistic celebration chaired by the Vicar General Msgr. Salvino Cognetti.
The civil program: music, dance and show in Piazza Garibaldi
The civil program will animate Piazza Garibaldi, the beating heart of the Lido district, starting with Friday 25 July with the live concert of the Skelters Band.
Saturday 26 July The dance will be the protagonist with the Gran Gala “emotions in motion” at 9 pm, a show that will see local dance schools perform: Studio Danza Compagnia, Dance Academy, Danz Art, ASD Dance always, on tiptoe and passion dance.
In the end, Sunday 27 July, The music returns protagonist with Eman in concert at 10 pm, followed by the traditional fireworks displayby the Carmine Perri company, and by the signed lights Anna Ribbecco. The evening will be accompanied by Music Band “City of Girifalco”.
