A serious episode has struck a building contractor from Serra San Bruno, Eugenio Mammone, known in the village for his dedication to work and attention to his family. On the night between 4 and 5 January, in Spadola, in the Contato area, a fire completely destroyed a work truck he owned, kept inside a shed.
The vehicle, regularly parked and closed, was found completely charred at first light. The Fire Brigade intervened on site and took steps to extinguish the last outbreaks and make the area affected by the fire safe. According to an initial estimate, the damages would amount to around 100 thousand euros, a huge loss which risks having serious consequences on the professional activity of the 52-year-old, who is daily involved in various construction sites in the area.
The entrepreneur filed a formal complaint with the competent authorities. Investigations are currently underway to clarify the origin of the fire and identify any responsibilities. An episode that goes beyond the material damage: the fire hit an essential work tool, undermining the serenity of a self-employed worker and family man, known as a correct entrepreneur who respects the rules.
