A priest, reached by an order for pre -trial detention in prison issued by the investigating magistrate of Reggio Calabria, was arrested in the province of Cosenza by the Carabinieri of the Reggio Calabria company. The religious is seriously suspected of the crime of aggravated sexual violence against a minor, in reference to circumstances dating back to the two -year period 2015 – 2016 and protracted until 2020 (after reaching the age of age by the young man).
The investigation, launched by the military of the weapon and coordinated by the Reggio Calabria prosecutor directed by the FF Giuseppe Lombardo, developed through an articulated investigative activity, based on testimonial feedback, document acquisitions and technical activities. The investigations made it possible to bring out a complex and delicate framework, reconstructing one affair that, according to the accusatory hypothesis, would have originated within a parish community of Reggina.
The victim, at the time of the first episodes a 16 -year -old boy attended the pastoral and aggregative activities of the parish, organized by the arrested priest. The man, taking advantage of his role and the condition of family distress experienced by the young man, would have established an ambiguous relationship, initially fueled by adlations and attention, then degenerated in episodes of real sexual violence, consumed in secluded places of the ecclesiastical structure.
According to what was reconstructed by the military Reggio Calabria, The priest would have used his own position to emotionally manipulate the boy, making him feel spiritually and morally tied to the figure of his “Father Guida”. A relationship in which – according to the investigations – moments of liturgy, confidence, and abuse were superimposed. In some cases, after consuming the sexual acts, the religious would even have given a blessing to the victim, asking for “forgiveness” for the incident.
During the investigative activities It emerged that the boy, while living with unease and suffering how much he immediately struggled to rebelparalyzed by a feeling of awe and the fear of losing the link with the parish community. A condition of subordination that the priest – a figure of great charisma and authority in the ecclesiastical context – would have known food with strategy and awareness, until the young man unable to oppose.
The investigation also made it possible to document that, even after the transfer of the priest to a parish in the province of Cosenza, he would have continued to carry out activities in close contact with minors.
The priest was transferred to the competent district house, available to the judicial authority.
