Piazza Cairoli returns to transform itself into the beating heart of Messina’s food and wine and conviviality. The 2026 edition of the Messina Street Food Fest officially began with the traditional ribbon cutting, one of the city’s most loved autumn events, ready to attract thousands of residents, visitors and lovers of good food from all over the region and beyond. Satisfaction and strong support were expressed by the municipal administration for an event that never ceases to broaden its horizons: «We are happy to be at the side of an event that, year after year, continues to grow, involving more and more people and attracting exhibitors and visitors even from outside the city – said the mayor Federico Basile – Piazza Cairoli is transformed into a place of meeting and sharing, where excellence combines with music, entertainment and the desire to be together. Events like this represent a fundamental opportunity to support production activities, promote the area and make Messina increasingly attractive.”
The four-day event, scheduled from 15 to 18 October, features a calendar with over 40 events for a 360-degree experience. The taste journey will offer 50 different street food specialities, supported this year by an exclusive Casetta Stellata and a special Beer Edition with 8 craft breweries.
There will also be space for haute cuisine with 9 cooking shows that will see great protagonists of the restaurant industry at work, all enriched by a packed schedule of live music, DJ sets, live shows and street artists.
The details of the complete program can be consulted on the official website of the event (www.messinastreetfoodfest.it). Piazza Cairoli is ready to welcome the public for a weekend full of flavors and fun.
