An explosion followed by flames damaged the Family Boat in the night, one of the boats of the Global Sumud Flotilla anchored to Sidi Bou Said, in Tunisia. According to what reports Republicon board the boat, the Portuguese flag also traveled activists known as Greta Thunberg, Yasemin Acar and Thiago Avila.
According to the reconstruction released by the organizers, a military drone would have hit the boat causing a fire that destroyed part of the bridge and the hold, making short -term navigation impossible. The images spread by the activists themselves show the moment of the explosion and have been accompanied by accusations of “attack against civilians in Tunisian territory”.

From the movement that promotes the flottilla the condemnation of what happened and the confirmation of the intention to continue the direct mission to Gaza arrives, despite the serious damage to the boat and the need to find alternative solutions for the crew.
The version of the National Guard
The official version provided by the Tunisian National Guard is however different: for the authorities the fire would have started from the rescue jackets and “no drone was detected” in the area. However, an investigation was opened to clarify the incident.
