Kimi Antonelli achieved the best time in the only free practice session scheduled for the Dutch Formula 1 Grand Prix. The world championship leader finished in 1’12”949, putting his Mercedes ahead of Lando Norris’s McLaren, 121 thousandths behind.
Two Mercedes in the top three positions
Third time for the other Mercedes, driven by George Russell, who was 125 thousandths behind Antonelli. Fourth and fifth position for the Ferraris of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, 190 and 289 thousandths away from the leader respectively.
Verstappen only eleventh
Oscar Piastri, at the wheel of McLaren, achieved the sixth fastest time with a gap of 659 thousandths. Max Verstappen further back: the Red Bull driver only finished in eleventh position, 1″376 behind Antonelli.
Qualifying for the Sprint scheduled for tomorrow will start at 4.30pm.
