In recent days, the personnel of the Frascineto Traffic Police, as part of the services aimed at repressing traffic offenses, particularly at night, arrested a 50-year-old man in flagrante delicto for possession for the purpose of dealing drugs.
The intervention after the accident on the A2
The measure was taken following the intervention of a patrol following a road accident that occurred along the A2 del Mediterraneo, in the territory of the Municipality of Mormanno. During the investigations, the officers became suspicious of the behavior of the driver of an industrial vehicle involved in the accident and therefore proceeded to carefully check the vehicle.
Inside the cab of the truck, several blocks of hashish-type narcotic substance were found, with a total weight of 33,734 kilograms.
Seizure and arrest
The patrol proceeded to seize the narcotic substance and the vehicle used for transport. The driver was then arrested and taken to the local prison, available to the Castrovillari Public Prosecutor’s Office, directed by the prosecutor Alessandro D’Alessio.
The measure was adopted in compliance with the rights of the suspect, who is presumed innocent until a final conviction is reached, as provided for in the current phase of the criminal proceedings and to protect the right to freedom of the press.
