The link between a university and its territory also passes through figures capable of returning its complexity, voice and imaginary. It is in this horizon that the University of Calabria has chosen to give the master’s degree honoris into writings, images, digital media a Dario Brunoriaka Bruori Sas, whose artistic production intertwines personal story and collective vision. The proposal was advanced by the Department of Political and Social Sciences (Despens), directed by Ercole Giap Parini, on the initiative of the Council of the Degree Course coordinated by Olimpia affusing. After the approval of the academic Senate, chaired by the Rector Nicola Leonethe procedure continues with the ministerial evaluation, the last stop before the official ceremony, scheduled for 2026.
Meanwhile, Bruori has accepted the university’s invitation to welcome students for the new academic year, on September 22 with an evening event between words and music on the campus. The relationship with Unical and Calabria is an integral part of his work: this is where his study is found, the source of many recent projects, including the post -Sanrere tour. In several interviews Bunori has expressed its deep bond with the University and the Calabrian territory, chosen as the emotional and creative center from which to observe and tell the world.
“With this recognition, the University of Calabria intends to enhance an expressive excellence of our territory – said the Rector – capable of combining Calabrian roots and contemporary languages. Bruori’s presence at Unical represents not only a reason for pride, but also a concrete opportunity for our students. The agreement that regulates the use of spaces for its artistic activities provides for the organization of recital, meetings and seminars, also with protagonists of the national music and productive scene. An important training enrichment, in particular for courses related to communication and entertainment ».
The recognition comes in a moment of particular splendor for the Calabrian artist: back from the podium of the 75th Sanremo Festival with the song “The Noci Tree”, former Golden Disco and winner of the “Sergio Bardotti” award for the best text, Bruori has inaugurated a highly successful tour started from the Circus Maximus of Rome to the main Italians, who will continue with seven dates in Europe in December. A confirmation of his ability to dialogue with a large audience, crossing generations and genres.
Bruori will receive recognition thanks to his solid artistic path, in which writing takes on different forms (music, theater, television), always consistent and with an intense ability to interpret the present. From the record beginnings with Vol. 1 (2009, Ciampi Prize), to the theatrical story Bruori Srl, and to the television programs (such as Bruori Sa on Rai 3), up to the song “The Black Man”, which in 2018 won the Amnesty International Italia award for the best song for human rights. The soundtracks made for Aldo’s film “Hate The Summer” by Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo were awarded in 2020 with the silver ribbon and the gold cink.
The master’s degree course in Scriptures, images, digital media, just activated in the academic year 2025/2026 and already with a good number of applications for registration, is aimed at those who want to explore contemporary communication with a transdisciplinary, critical and creative approach. Audiovisual and media languages are studied in the era of artificial intelligence, the forms of digital narration, the role of writing in the various social and cultural contexts, without neglecting the ethical and philosophical aspects of communication.
