From Verzino to the European foreign policy training school of the “Friedrich Ebert – Stiftug” Foundation. Domenico Urso, 21 years old, a university student of Economics, is enthusiastic about the experience he shared with 30 other young Italians under 35 – but also with peers from Belgium and Spain – who like him participated in the third edition of the training event divided into four stages which ended with a three-day stay in Rome in the Spazio Sette Libreria. The 21-year-old Economics student who lives in the small town of the Alto Crotone area was able to participate in the interesting political-educational experience, thanks to the scholarship won with the Foundation which takes its name from the first president of the Weimar Republic who from the end of the First World War to 1925 was in practice the leader of the German Social Democrats of the reformist wing.
The themes addressed during the training stages of the school also supported by MondoDem are important and current: transatlantic relations, the European agenda, the ecological transaction, foreign policy and common European defense, cybersecurity.

“The experience – says Domenico Urso – allowed me to broaden my geopolitical vision and understand how European decisions concretely impact the lives of citizens. I rediscovered the value of youth participation as a tool for political and social change. Meeting peers from other countries made me feel part of a lively and progressive European community. It stimulated me to continue training and to commit myself personally to a more just, cohesive and aware of its role in the world.”
“Europe – underlines the young student from Verzino – is not a distant concept, but a reality that we build every day through dialogue, knowledge and participation”.
