She has already purchased the backpack and some stationery items, for the rest she will wait for the instructions from the teacher, little Aysha, the little girl who will start attending the first class of Ginostra primary school on September 10th. An event for the hamlet of the island of Stromboli because in that place – which during the winter has around forty inhabitants – the school will reopen its doors after 20 years.
The parents’ battle
A result obtained thanks to the little girl’s parents, Rafic Banzine and Monica Abbate, who fought for the reopening. It is not yet known who will be the teacher of the little, only pupil at the school, the appointment will arrive shortly. Meanwhile, Aysha and her parents prepare for the excitement of the first day of school.

“This result is very important for our little girl and for the very place where we are,” her father tells AGI. «We are happy. Creating a place – he adds – where for years it was thought that a school couldn’t be built gives hope that even what seems impossible is actually possible.”
