Giovanni Gaetani from Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto is the winner of the Stillsarti competition organized by the Circolo dei master tailors; the ceremony took place on the day in which the Club celebrated the patron saint Sant’Omobono, who lived in the 12th century and is remembered for the fabric trading activity carried out in the city of Cremona of which he is the patron saint. The president of the Circolo Santi Morabito and the governor of the Confraternita Santi Macchia presented the recognition. Giovanni Gaetani is the last of a generation that boasts 45 years of activity. His great passion for fashion led him to specialize more and more, always trying to adapt his creations to the personality of the wearer. Gaetano was rewarded for having distinguished himself with the technical and work track of the garment by accessing the selection which will allow the winner to participate in the national Golden Mannequin competition organized in Rome by the Academy of Tailors.
The competition was preceded by a mass celebrated in the church of Santa Caterina by Msgr. Giò Tavilla, ecclesiastical assistant of the brotherhood and the usual floral tribute to the icon of via Giordano Bruno, where the church of the same name stood in the 18th century, a long-standing tradition dating back to 1563, carried on by generations of tailors who have followed one another until today.
