The Mediterranean as a living space of exchange, contamination and shared identity at the center of the “Linea Med” format, which will end from Malta on Saturday 11 July at 5.10pm on Rai1. Conceived by Angelo Maietta and Daniele Petirro, written by Tommaso Martinelli, Luigi Milliucci and Sacha Lunatici with the direction of Gabriele Tincari, the program has visited various Italian regions in recent weeks, showing how the sea has influenced the culture, tourism, cuisine, music and development models of our country, in a constant dialogue between tradition and innovation. Leading the spectators on this journey to discover our territorial riches are Angela Tuccia and Giulia Teri from Marsala, voice of Rai Radio Tutta Italiana – where she hosts the programs “Teri e Oggi” and “Fatti felt” – who carries out interesting interviews about music in the broadcast. “Many and important contaminations have arrived from the Mediterranean – he tells us – and this is precisely what we try to underline at “Linea Med”: even today there is a population that brings the sea into their art, even into their creativity”. A 360 degree narrative therefore, which is not limited to casting a glance at the scenic beauty, but above all tells the story of the people who experience this sea in the contemporary world. “Thanks to the fact that our ancestors thought of taking advantage of the sea, of using the Mediterranean, today these populations live in comfortable conditions, even if the history of the past tells otherwise. It is important to remember this especially to the new generations because certainly human intervention has sometimes caused problems, but on the other hand it has also allowed us to live a comfortable life today”. “Whether you or you don’t want to – she continues – the Mediterranean is always there, in whatever is told, be it music, a people or a land; and it is a reality that embraces everyone and that I still feel alive. I perceived as a signal the possibility of narrating on television the sea where I was born and raised, which we don’t always appreciate as it deserves. A double emotion”. Alongside the two hosts, Daniela Ropolo, curator of the program’s green tutorials. “Linea Med” is produced by Joy Production & Sustainability Srl. All episodes are available on RaiPlay.
