From Sicilian Black Ape Honey to Pasta with Tennerumia symbol of the Sicilian summer. These are some of the topics of the third episode of Good landthe program created and conducted by Fabrizio Carrera which airs on RTP today, Friday 4 July, at 9 pm (with reply at 11.15 pm and Sunday at 15.15). The opening service is dedicated to the Sicilian black bee, an endemic species of Sicily saved from extinction by a passionate and visionary beekeeper like Carlo Amodeo in the countryside of Termini Imerese. This species of bee is particularly interesting both for honey that produces and for genetic aspects as it is confirmed by recent studies conducted by the University of Palermo as part of the Pronera project which is talked about in one of the services dedicated to the subject.
And after the interviews with the expert of wine Stevie Kim and a service on the polished or catarratto, variety of grapes that are widespread in Sicily and with great potential to produce very good white wines, the third episode of good land dedicates ample space to a dish icon of our kitchen: pasta and tender. The starred chef Tony Lo Coco de I Pupi di Bagheria will prepare the dish by telling family anecdotes and giving some suggestions while Gianfranco Marrone, university professor and gastronomy expert will explain to us why this dish is comfort food for us.
