The 2026 data will almost certainly arrive at the beginning of the new year, but the “numbers” made official by the Region and relating to the two-year period 2023-25 have confirmed that tourists are increasingly liking Milazzo. Numbers that show a significant growth in flows and confirm how the city of Cape Town is trying to shake off the label of a simple crossing point towards the Aeolian Islands.
Between 2023 and 2025, arrivals went from 53,565 to 74,106, an increase of 38.3%, while attendance rose from 104,411 to 161,498, or 54.7%. The ability to retain visitors has also grown. The average stay in fact went from 1.95 nights in 2023 to 2.18 in 2025, after reaching 2.28 in 2024.
However, there is something new in these data compared to the past, as also confirmed by the Palermo offices of the Tourism Department. From 2025, the Region has also started to count the flows of holiday homes and other private accommodation rented out on a non-business basis.
