The long -awaited reconciliation in Windsor has become reality after rumors and rumors that had been chasing each other for months. The rebel prince Harry, visiting the United Kingdom to pay homage to his grandmother Elizabeth II on the third anniversary of his death and participate in a series of events with the voluntary associations patronage by him, crossed the gates of the London residence of Clarence House to go to the father, King Carlo, and finally embrace him again.
A meeting organized in time, if we consider that the sovereign took the plane today starting from Balmoral, Scotland, where he had spent the summer holidays according to the Windsor tradition, to be at the appointment with his son. Thus they have been reviewed for the first time for almost 20 months, since February 2024 when the prince had arrived alone in the kingdom to go to the sovereign after his diagnosis of cancer, in a moment of apprehension for the royal family and subjects, which followed the care for a year and a half. The meeting between father and son lasted about an hour, 55 minutes to be exact: they took a tea together and spoke face to face.
A very important stage in the process of rapprochex after the traumatic tear of the Duke of Sussex in 2020 from the rest of the royal family and the transfer to the USA with his wife Meghan, which were then followed by the disagreements resulting from Harry’s revelations on the relationship with Windsor, in particular with his bestsellers entitled ‘Sparè. Signs of Trust had also recently emerged on the tabloids with a rapprochement that appeared more and more at hand. In particular for the anniversary of the death of Queen Elisabetta, which took place on 8 September 2022 at the Scottish castle of Balmoral, capable of gathering if not the whole family at least Harry and Carlo.
According to the newspapers, the sovereign had shown the desire to mend the fracture with the second son and had been held in July a “secret meeting” between Meredith Maines, the right arm of the structure that assists the Duke of Sussex, and Tobyn Andreae, head of the communication of Buckingham Palace, precisely to evaluate the rapprochement. Meeting in which Liam Maguire, Harry and Meghan consultant for public relations, also appeared.
The most important signal, however, came from the prince last May, when from the BBC screens he had launched a sensational appeal to the “reconciliation” with the Windsor, in particular with his father given the conflicts that remain with the older brother William, recalling the same health conditions as the sovereign.
